01 / 06Origin Story

August 2024 — Abuja

45 minutes that became a company

Chiamaka was drafting an employment contract in her Abuja firm when she caught herself copy-pasting a non-compete clause she had written in 2019 for a different client in a different industry.

She spent 45 minutes cross-checking whether it was still appropriate. It was. Four months later, at a FATE Foundation legaltech roundtable in Lagos, she described the problem to Giulia Conti — an Italian product lead recently relocated from Milan — who said quietly: "We had the same problem in Italian commercial law five years ago. It is the same product."

Giulia introduced Mamadou Diop, a Senegalese engineer at Andela Lagos with three years of multilingual NLP experience from Wave Mobile Money in Dakar. By December 2024 all three were full-time. LexNova Technologies Ltd. was incorporated at the Corporate Affairs Commission in February 2025 — without a pre-seed round, on the strength of a ₦8M FATE Foundation grant and two angel cheques.

"There has to be a way," Chiamaka had said that first afternoon, "to make the firm's institutional knowledge — all of it — available in the 45 minutes I spent checking that one clause."

Soft launch in May 2025. First cash-flow-positive month, November 2025. Today: 870 active subscriptions across 632 paying organisations — and no further funding round planned.

02 / 06Founding Team

Three founders. Three continents. One chamber.

A commercial solicitor from Enugu, a product lead from Bologna, and an engineer from Dakar. All three relocated to or remained in Abuja to be closer to the regulators that shape Nigerian commerce.

Chiamaka Eze

CEO & Co-founder

Born in Nsukka and raised between Enugu and Abuja. LLB from the University of Nigeria Nsukka; BL from the Nigerian Law School, Bwari. Eight years as a commercial solicitor at Udo Udoma & Belo-Osagie (Abuja). Left in 2023 after spending six months drafting the same indemnity clause variants manually across 40 unrelated contracts.

"Every senior lawyer I know spends 30% of their time on work that a well-prompted AI could do in 30 seconds. Lexconai recovers that time."
Giulia Conti
Bologna, Emilia-Romagna · Italy

COFOUNDER / 02

Giulia Conti

Born in Bologna; trained as a designer at Politecnico di Milano. Five years as Head of Product at LexFusion (Milan), an Italian commercial-litigation tech firm. "Italian commercial law and Nigerian commercial law are surprisingly close cousins. The product surface they need is almost the same — only the precedents differ."
Mamadou Diop
Dakar · Sénégal — based in Abuja

COFOUNDER / 03

Mamadou Diop

CTO & Co-founder

Born in Dakar; computer-science degree from École Supérieure Polytechnique. Three years building ML pipelines at Wave Mobile Money (Dakar), then two years at Andela's Lagos engineering org from 2023. "Contracts are structured documents masquerading as free text. Once you treat them as structured data, the AI problems become much more tractable."

04 / 06Values

What we believe — and act on.

01

Institutional memory is competitive advantage

Every contract your firm has ever signed contains signal — what works, what fails, who negotiates hard. Lexconai makes that signal usable, not just storable.

02

Lawyers stay in control

The AI drafts; the lawyer decides. Lexconai never auto-signs, never auto-sends, never removes human judgment from the loop.

03

Mid-market first

We build for the 50-person legal team that cannot wait years for an enterprise vendor to notice them. The work happens at this scale or it does not happen at all.

05 / 06Customers

Four pilots became six hundred and thirty-two paying organisations.

We launched in May 2025 with four pilot firms. Most of our customers today are solo practitioners and 2–5 person commercial practices — the segment enterprise CLM has structurally ignored.
